Any good tips for a trip to Las Vegas?

Me and some friends are planning to visit Las Vegas in March. Does anyone have helpful advice for good deals on hotels, shows, and site seeing? What's good/what's not.

go during the week. you will be able to get a better deal on your room. the casinos and clubs are also a lot less crowded. it vegas, so the place is always rocking, but the weekends can get to be a little too much. pick a nice hotel on the strip. check out the other places. there is a pretty decent ,monorail system and cabs from one end of the strip to the other cost about $10. if you take a day, the strip is walkable and that is a good way to hit all the sites. while you should check out the other hotels, you should do most of your betting, partying, and show seeing in the place that you are staying. you are their guest and they will go out their way to accomodate you. i stayed at the mandalay bay last time i went and i loved it. great pool, great bars and restaurants, house of blues and big shows at the events center, classy place (doesn't cram a theme down your throat). if you have the money, stay in the middle of the strip at either the bellagio, the venetian, or caesars palace. one last thing, do your research. you can find great deals and hidden gems in vegas more than almost anywhere else you want to go.

Why do I get alot of mail from Atlantic City and hardly nothing from Las Vegas?

I have been to Las Vegas 5 times in the past 4 years. Mohegan Sun twice in the last year and Atlantic City 6 times in the past year. I love to gamble and I absolutely love Las Vegas. I think its the greatest place in the world. My question is I get a ton of mail from Atlantic City atleast 10 pieces a week. Free cash & comps, free rooms, free shows etc, etc. But from Las Vegas I get very little. I was wondering if anybody else is experiencing this, is it because I live on the East Coast or is it because the casinos in Vegas does not send alot of stuff. Or maybe they just concentrate on states around Nevada.

This is a very easy one too answer. Nobody really wants to go to Atlantic City, Atlantic City is hurting for people for it to stay open. Las Vegas, is better for the family to come to all year round.

Atlantic City, has more crime than Vegas. Drugs, prostitution, armed robberies, car jacking and scams. And they are not family friendly.

Vegas, Yes they do have some for the problems as well. But 3/4 less than Atlantic City. And they are 100% family friendly. Plus nice weather all year round.

Evertime I drive from LA to Vegas, I always go to scores. I want to get behind one of there bars and serve hundreds of drinks a night and have the prestigious of making dennis rodman his favorite drink. What will it take to get a job at scores of Las Vegas. Someone tell me what the odds are at this point ?

I'd ask the manager. I suppose if you let him knoiw how desperate you were, he would tell you what it would take.
Perhaps bartending school might be a start?

What is the wedding ettiquette about gifts you don't want?

My fiancee and I have been engaged for a while, with no date set yet. Last year, his mother and her boyfriend told us that they already have our wedding present: the honeymoon. But not just any honeymoon. She recently bought a timeshare in Las Vegas, and with the timeshare got a pack of coupons for free trips to other timeshares around the world.

Since then, she and my fiancee have become estranged for unrelated reasons, and they recently have been talking to each other occasionally, just small talk. But if the honeymoon comes up again, how do you tell someone you don't want their gift?

Frankly, I want out honeymoon to be special, and not stressful. I don't want to go to some unknown timeshare property of unknown quality. I don't want the possibility of being subjected to a sales pitch as part of the free vacation. I'd rather go on a cruise or rent a house in the mountains.
Thanks, lots of interesting opinions so far. Some things to note: FH just started working in a public service job where he will only get one week of vacation every 6 months, and can't take any longer until he gets more seniority.

And there is no saying if our relationship with his mother will improve. Right now all it is is saying hi to her at family gatherings.

Plan and take the honeymoon you and your intended want. Tell Mom all about your plans. She may take the hint. If she still insists on giving you the timeshare coupons just say thanks and either sell it someone else or use it for a impromptu vacation later on.

I was wondering if Mandalay Bay has a FUN BOOKS, I've heard that some hotel have these coupon books that they give away that has coupon in them I was wondering if Mandalay Bay was one of the hotels that has a coupon book? And if so where do you go to get the FUN BOOK?

Most Las Vegas hotels has fun books. Mandalay Bay will offer you their fun book when you check in. If they don't, just ask and they will give you one. If you need one before you get to Vegas call Mandalay Bay's toll free number and they will send you one.

Sam’s Town (Hotel in Las Vegas) Indoor Water-Light Show?

Does anybody have a good quality recording of the music used in this light show or know a place that has it? Or if it’s a bunch of different music put together then does someone know the different songs in it? If its just a stream I can deal with that.

Mystic Falls - Sam’s Town

The music is a recording by the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra.

I do not have a recording, but, maybe this will help you in your search.

The Mystic Falls indoor park at Sam’s Town is one of our favorite places to relax and have a cold one.

Which Casinos in Las Vegas give the most in comp drinks and chips?

September 27th, 2008

Posted by admin in las vegas comps | 5 Comments »

I'm going on a one night stop to Vegas, but don't want to spend a lot on entertainment. Someone told me in Vegas the casinos give complimentary drinks and chips to everyone who comes in. Any tips?

If you really want comps, go to a locals bar off the strip. You will get drinks and food. But for one night I don't imagine you want to travel that far. Freemont St. is much better with the comps than the Strip. Better odds, too.

What Halloween events are going on this year in Las Vegas?

This is the first year I will actually be able to do anything for Halloween and I am looking for some places to go, not just on Halloween, but days before also. I am 22, so something for adults, not children.

I have a great website. It’s informational, but better yet it has a picture of Elvira on it!

I hope this helps

I need coupons and specials for las vegas?

I live in Vegas and we have a radio shopping show. They are on the air every weekday here from 7am - 10am and 3pm - 6pm and weekend too, but I am not sure of exact times. They have a list of items they have vouchers for, including shows, dining, and other recreational things. They give a discount of 50% - 70% off. And every day they have new specials, like an additional 20% off the already marked off price. It's definitely worth looking into. You can stream the show from anywhere. The website is www.kshp.com. Look under shopper's guide at the top of the screen. If you listen to the show, you can order by calling them while they are on the air. You must pick up your order within 7 days, so don't order to soon before you come. There office is not far from the strip.

Also, if you are not interested in the radio show, there is a place called Tix4Tonight or Half Price Tickets. (not sure the exact name. They have a couple of locations. One is in front of the M&M Store, next tthe MGM Casino. The other location is in the fashion show mall that is across from the Wynn. You can go there that day and get tickets for shows for half price. They have alot to chose from. A great way to see the expensive shows!

If you want to ask me any other questionsyou can reach me by email @ winnie2228@yahoo.com

I hope this helps!
