Cheerleading/Luggage/Comp./Vegas?

Hey I have a cheerleading comp. coming up in las vegas and i need to fond a nice bag to bring with me i already have my cheer bag that i’m gonna take with me on the plane but i need anther bag to take with me for all my other stuff but it cant be to big with all the checking prices and everything and i have share a room with 3 other girls and i want it to be really cute so if anyone could help me out or tell me any web sites that would be really awesome!!!!!!!!!! thank you <3 jamie

Two things;
Make sure it has wheels.
Make sure it is not black.

If you want it cute, you will have to think about things being parasitical.

If you want it with out wheels, you will understand why wheels if you have to move the luggage a great distance.

The reason why I said anything but black has to do with baggage claim at the airport. Most luggage is black. Tying a bright scarf or something on the bag helps also.

How to make the most out of 23rd birthday in Las Vegas

My wife and I are struggling to figure out how to make the absolute best out of my 23rd birthday. We will be visiting Las Vegas in early September for 3 nights.

We’re looking for somewhere that’s entertaining and I’ll never turn down any free comps for my birthday, so where would be the best places to visit. It is our first time in Vegas and so we’re excited and not quite sure where to visit.
My accommodations are taken care of as I work for a hotel chain and have my employee discount so I'm not too interested in that aspect.

go to the vegas-based search on http://thinkingofvegas.blogspot.com and type in comps, or freebies, or “promo codes” (that’s for rooms that come with extras), or nightlife, coupons, etc.

Try this site http://www.thetwentydollartrick.com/ i’ve never done it but it tells you how to try for a room upgrade - a tip plus the fact it’s your birthday might do the trick, assuming you’re not there over Labor Day or while a big convention is in town.

What’s fun depends on you. The flair bartenders at Harrah’s Carnival Court is great fun for some - for others it’s a romantic dinner overlooking the lights of Vegas Strip. Just go with a good attitude, and a budget of what you’ll spend gambling.

Going to visit Las Vegas?

Is it really as slow in Las Vegas as I hear it is ? I am going in a couple weeks and not sure what to expect. Just wondering if there is a noticeable difference in Vegas due to the economy + does anyone know if any good comp’s/deals are out there because of it ?

It is noticeable on weekdays but not on weekends. With gas prices down the people from California are driving in again. Weekday prices are way down. Just go on any hotel website and see what they are offering. If you qualified for comps they would have contacted you with offers. However there are tons of deals.

Going to visit Imperial Palace in Las Vegas?

I am going to visit the Imperial Palace in a few weeks. I know it’s a very basic casion/hotel. Any tips on how to get good deals/comp’s in that casino, or in the surrounding areas ?
Also anyone know of good deals in Downtown Vegas ?

Good deals abound in Vegas right now. They were just talking about on the news this morning. Profits were down 10% last month so the hotels are offering great deals on room. You should browse the internet to find the best deals, they said.

Imperial Palace may have a players card. I know the Flamingo next door does. Just get the casino players cards and rack up points for comps. When I got my card from Caesar’s Palace years ago they gave me $50 to start gambling with. But that was years ago. I don’t know about now.

All casinos comp high rollers. And if you’re asking about deals and comps, I’m pretty sure you aren’t a high roller, so just take advantage of the cheap meal deals like $7.99 prime rib and $11.99 steak and lobster meals.

Downtown has the best rates right now. Be sure to get a players card at the Golden Gate, then go have a 99 cent shrimp cocktail. They are world famous and there is no lettuce at the bottom of the cup. Very yummy.

Have fun.

Which las vegas casinos do you like most?

And explain why (competition, comps, limits, tournaments, etc.)

i usually stay in the smaller casinos downtown. the minimum bets are comfortable for me (the cheapest bet I saw on the strip was like $1 slots, vs. 1 cent or 5 cent slots downtown.) Of those downtown, I got the most comps from the fremont (pens, caps, etc.) and the golden nugget (free buffet for 2 every night.)

Where to stay in Las Vegas?

Going to Las Vegas at the end of May For thirty anniversary. We are staying for a full week. I want to stay at one of Harrahs properties because I am being comped for a couple of the days. Need opinions on Flamingo, Harrahs, Paris, Rio, and Bally's. Any details would be great!! This is our first time there. Thanks!!

I have not stayed in any of these, but you must remember that no matter where you stay, you are only really sleeping there. Since it is your anniversary, I would expect that you'd want to stay somewhere romantic, maybe? Well, Paris would be your best bet, plus you can find good rates, especially if you are getting a couple of nights comped. Rio is off strip so you would have to take a shuttle to get to the main strip, but they have the best buffet. I have never really gotten the image from Bally's or Harrah's as being anything special, I would probably never stay there. I like the big themed hotels better, like Paris. All of the reviews I have read about Flamingo say it is old and outdated. Granted they are one of the oldest hotels on the strip, but I prefer the newer rooms.

Based on the reviews below, the Rio has the best rating, but like I said, they are off strip. So you won't be able to walk out of your hotel and walk around, you'll have to wait for the shuttle. Good luck and Happy Anniversary!

Can anyone recommend an extended stay motel in las vegas????

I am moving to Las Vegas on June 22, and need to find a safe, clean, and relatively cheap extended stay (with kitchen or kitchenette) to stay in until I find a permenant apartment.

I am staying at various big hotels on the strip for two months (gotta love comps), but after that I need to find an extended stay motel. I don't want to sign a lease until I am sure I want to stay there.

Many people have told me to stay away from the motels by the stip due to crime and drugs.

Any suggestions? Some names I have read about are Sportsman Manor, Town and Country Manor, and Budget Suites.

Well, you've got a couple of choices:

Residence Inn Las Vegas Convention Center by Marriott
http://www.resideo.com/87196949.hotel

Emerald Suites South Las Vegas Blvd
http://www.resideo.com/88202185.hotel

Emerald Suites - Cameron
http://www.resideo.com/07320151.hotel

Not sure if they'll be in your price range, but each link has more info, pics & online rate check/booking.

Good luck!

Where is the best poker room in Las Vegas?

November 8th, 2008

According to the following criteria:

-easy of competition
-best variety of buy in/blind levels
-best comps for playing poker
-proximity to the cental strip

ALSO: where are the best regularly schedualed texas hold'em tournements (sit and gos, and multi tables) . ALSO ALSO: where do the tourneyments have the lowest relative fee (i.e. 10% of tourney buy in )

MGM Grand is where the fish float… nice room with some decent variety on games.

Stay away from the Mirage and Bellagio unless you want to play against daily pros…

hold'em tourneys depends on your buy-in comfort level, but when my wife and I go, we go downtown to the Plaza. They have $50 (with one $50 rebuy) tourneys at noon, 4pm, 8pm, and midnight…. We make a day of it. You can satellite in em too. For bigger buy ins go to Mirage and Bellagio

Atlantic City versus Las Vegas (Casinos)?

November 5th, 2008

I have probably been to Vegas 50+ times and have never been to Atlantic City but am thinking about checking it out during a trip to Philadelphia this summer.

How do the casinos compare?

Free drinks while gambling?

Are there sportsbooks (I think I heard that there aren't any)?

Do restaurants have really cheap specials like they do in Vegas?

Any shows worth checking out?

If I have comp dollars with Harrahs Las Vegas, can I use that toward meals in the Harrah's property in AC by just showing my Total Rewards card?

What is unique about AC that I should check out during the day or night?

If we go out there for the afternoon and gamble for a few hours, will I want to stick around into the evening?

What might I find disappointing in comparison to Sin City?

Any other comments, suggestions and recommedations are appreciated.

I am a regular to AC and I got to Vegas twice a year. Let's see, I'll try to answer all of your questions.

How do the casinos compare?

Atlantic City, of course, has fewer casinos than Las Vegas. Although I adore Las Vegas, I win more money in Atlantic City. I find that the hotels themselves are a little less worn than Las Vegas since Atlantic City has down time in the winter time.

Of course you get free drinks while gambling.

No. Sportsbooks.

The resturants do not have really cheap specials like Vegas. The average dinner buffet will cost you about $30.00 on the high end. There are a number of really nice resturants that won't break your budget.

No real shows that aren't also in Las Vegas.

As long as you have the comps in your Total Rewards account, you can use them in Atlantic City at Showboat, Harrahs, Bally's, Caesars, and the Claridge.

If you like the beach, Atlantic City has one. It's not that bad, although it could use a little spring cleaning. There are also some really nice outlets around for shopping at pretty reasonable prices.

If you go out gambling for a few hours in the afternoon, and you are winning, of course your going to want to stick around so win some more!

Atlantic City is not as exciting as Las Vegas. Las Vegas as the Strip, the lights, the constant flow of people, Atlantic City is nice and quiet on the outside, but the individual casinos offer their own flavor!

Atlantic City is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Philadelphia. If you go on Saturday, go early in the morning before it gets crowded and stay to the early evening after dinner. My favorite place is The Borgata; but Harrah's has added some new resturants that are really great! The Waterfront Buffet at Harrah's is outstanding! Also, Atlantic City has the main boardwalk with Showboat, Resorts, Bally's, Caesars, Tropicana, Hilton, Taj Mahal, and Trump Plaza. The Borgata, Harrah's, and Trump Marina are on the Marina.

I hope this helps! Enjoy!

Who will get behind my Viva Las Vegas Platform?

1. A drink in every hand.
2. Free 25 slot play at any the casino of your choose
3. Comped Meals
4. 2 for 1 lap dances.
5. Buy two hookers gets a 3rd condom for free.

Now I know what your liberals are saying how can it get better, trips to vegas for everybody especially mine, will be paid for out of your pockets.

And you conservatives must be thinking, will anybody find out about your debauchy so your good name won't be dragged through the mud at church. The answer is yes, I will make sure to video tape every money so that you will have memories last forever.
whoops meant to say moment instead of money.
Eddie you've been arrested, you Heteric!

I won't get BEHIND it but I'll second the motion… maybe not the prostitutes but everything else looks good :)

P.S. I don't get judged at my church even though most everyone there knows I had been arrested and jailed last year. They also know I had marriage problems and that I lived with another women for a short time too. We all make mistakes… some libs just think we don't ;)

***Yep, one hefty night of clubbin' cost me over 8 grand so far. Fortunately in Vegas you can just walk back to your room!
